Welcome to the 2nd HPLC Tube Contest, a competition for scientists to present their research related to all aspects of liquid-phase analytical separations. Unlike traditional scientific contests, application to HPLC Tube requires no paperno abstractbut a video (max. 3 minutes) on the presenting author’s own results. Among all videos submitted, an international jury will select the videos for the HPLC Tube final round that will take place during a special session at HPLC 2020-San Diego: HPLC Tube, a Scientific Contest. The winner, as well as the 2nd and 3rd place runners, will be chosen by a designated jury and will receive cash prizes.


Eligibility Criteria

The research project presented must be linked to higher education (as part of a university or research institute program) and must be based on the presenting author’s own results. In order to be eligible, the video presenter must register and pay the appropriate academic or student registration fee prior to submitting the video with Application Form.



Video submission with the Application Form is due April 20, 2020.


Video Specifications

  • The video must be filmed in English
  • The running time should not exceed 3 minutesThe project must be based on the presenting scientist’s results
  • The following video formats are recommended: 
    MPEG4, Codec, H264, Frame rate 30 fps 
    Resolution: 1920 x 1080 px 

      Aspect ratio: 16:9

      Bit rate: minimum bitrate 8000 KBits/s

  • File name of video on the Application Form must include presenter’s first name, last name, and research institute or university name
